Staff Writer

Lieutenant-General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan made it clear that the envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Volker Peretz, is a mediator who calls on everyone for dialogue and does not have the right to present an initiative.

Al-Burhan said in his interview with Sudanese television this evening, “I have no political opponents, and I have one cause, which is the homeland.”

On the closure of Al Jazeera Mubasher, he explained that media work has laws and regulations, and Al Jazeera Mubasher has violated the laws regulating professional work.

In response to the possibility of the United States of America issuing sanctions on the military component, Lieutenant-General Al-Burhan said that Washington receives a lot of misinformation, and they think that the government is elected, and he said that there are parties that have an interest in returning the situation to before October 25, stressing that sanctions and threats are useless.

Speaking about the economic situation, he indicated that it has been in crisis for a long time, and the budgets of the previous two years depended on aid, while this year’s budget was set without foreign aid.
