Al-Burhan and Abiy Ahmed Announce Turning the Page on Differences Between Sudan and Ethiopia

The Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, the current head of the IGAD Organization, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, and the Ethiopian Prime Minister Abi Ahmed, affirmed their keenness to resolve the contentious and outstanding issues between Sudan and Ethiopia through peaceful means and dialogue.

Al-Burhan said in press statements, after meeting at his residence in Nairobi with the Ethiopian Prime Minister, on the sidelines of the emergency IGAD summit, that the differences between African countries must be resolved within the framework of the African House and by friendly means.

For his part, Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed announced turning the page on the differences between the two countries and emphasizing the solution of outstanding issues through dialogue and peaceful methods, noting that the existing mechanisms between the two countries are capable of resolving them.
