Sovereignty Council VP Receives the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court

Khartoum 23/08/2022 – The Vice-President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant-General Mohamed Hamdandeglo, received in his office today, the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, Karim Khan, in the presence of the Minister of Justice in charge, Maulana Muhammad Saeed Al-Hilu.

He was briefed, by the Public Prosecutor of the Criminal Court, about his visit and the accompanying delegation to Sudan, the meetings he held with officials in Khartoum and Darfur, as well as his visits to some camps for the displaced.

The Vice-President of the Sovereignty Council expressed his welcome to the attorney general and his delegation in Sudan, stressing the state’s interest in achieving justice.

For his part, the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court expressed his thanks to the Sudanese government for the cooperation and great facilities it provided to his delegation during the visit, which reflects the advanced level of cooperation with Sudan, noting that he emphasized more coordination and cooperation between the two sides, pointing out that he will submit a report during The next two days, to the UN Security Council.
