I met with, the ambassadors of Ethiopia, Qatar, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and South Sudan and the Swiss envoy to the Horn of Africa And the director of the IGAD office in Kenya, in addition to the director of the World Food Program office in the region, the head of the United Nations High Commission for Refugees and the deputy head of the United Nations Mission in Sudan on Sunday evening, May 28 in Nairobi, Kenya, as part of my efforts to push for an end to the war in Sudan and lessen its devastating effects on Sudanese women and men.

I discussed the outcomes of the African summit meeting and the statement that followed it, along with the developments in the Situation in Sudan and its implications on neighboring countries. The meeting also covered a number of practical recommendations for tackling the problems facing those stranded at the borders, the homeless, and Sudanese refugees, in addition to how to speed up the distribution of humanitarian aid to Sudanese citizens and work toward the success of the country’s agricultural season.

On the morning of May 29, I met with Kenyan President William Ruto to discuss strategies for putting an end to the war. The necessity to implement the IGAD decision to appoint the heads of states of South Sudan, Djibouti, and Kenya to engage in discussions with the two parties to the conflict and efforts to end the war between them was emphasized during the meeting. Kenyan President William Ruto thanked me for the visit, and we stressed the importance of continuous communication and coordination in advancing the Sudan peace process.

My regional meetings continued, I have met with with Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni on the noon of May 31. The meeting dealt with an explanation of the current situation in Sudan and its impact on the region and neighboring countries. We acknowledged the efforts of the Sudanese government to reach an end to the war. The Ugandan president affirmed his full support for the people and government of Sudan, stressing that he would hold contact with the heads of the neighboring states of Sudan with the aim of activating all efforts to end the suffering of the Sudanese and stop the fighting in Sudan.

I will continue to inform the Public of all my activities, and I also call the Sudanese political forces to work shoulder to shoulder on the light of these efforts and to unite in order to stop the war in Sudan and to lift the suffering from our people.
