The European Union pledges to hold accountable those responsible for violations in Sudan

The European Union pledged on Friday to hold “all parties responsible for committing violations in Sudan” accountable, emphasizing its readiness to continue using all available means to end the armed conflict, ensure unhindered aid delivery, and halt the culture of impunity in Sudan.

In a statement released by the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs to mark one year since the outbreak of the conflict in Sudan, the European Union stated that it “will spare no effort in cooperation with international bodies to identify all responsible parties and hold them accountable for the atrocities committed and ongoing” in Sudan.

The European Union reiterated its call for all warring parties to immediately and permanently cease fire and establish monitoring mechanisms, according to the statement.
