Sovereignty Council VP Meets Russian Deputy Defense Minister

Moscow – February 26, 2022 AD — Vice-President of the Sovereign Council, Lieutenant-General Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, discussed, during his meeting in the Russian capital, Moscow, with the Russian Deputy Defense Minister, General Alexander Movin, the bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to promote them to higher levels to achieve common interests.

On the Sudanese side, the meeting was attended by the Chargé d’Affairs of the Sudanese Embassy in Moscow, Ambassador Onur Ahmed Onur, and the designated military attache, Colonel Dr. Abu Bakr Abdel Qader.

The two sides stressed the need to intensify aspects of cooperation in various political and military fields for the benefit of the two countries, in addition to activating the work of the existing committees and arranging for their convening as soon as possible.

The Vice-President of the Sovereignty Council praised the distinguished relations between the two countries and the coordination established at all levels, noting that the great reception of the delegation and the meetings that took place confirm the interest of the Russian side in Sudan, pointing out to the enormous potentials enjoyed by Sudan, which can represent a great opportunity for Russian investments to achieve benefit. common.

For his part, the Russian Deputy Defense Minister expressed his happiness with the visit of General Daglo and the accompanying delegation, noting that his country is proud of the distinguished historical friendship that binds it with Sudan, declaring their commitment to enhancing prospects for cooperation and working to intensify joint coordination in all forums, stressing that they deal with Sudan according to principles based on Non-interference in the internal affairs of countries.
