Sovereignty Council Member, Dr. Al-Hadi Idris, Praises UAE’s Support for Sudan

Khartoum 26/07/2022 – Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Dr. Hadi Idris, received at Khartoum Airport today, an Emirati aid plane carrying food and medicine, provided by the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, for those affected in Darfur, in the presence of the Emirati ambassador in Khartoum, His Excellency Hamad Mohamed Hamid Salem Juneibi.

In a press statement, the member of the Sovereignty Council praised the great support that the United Arab Emirates has been providing to Sudan in all fields.

He made it clear that the humanitarian support provided by the Khalifa bin Zayed Foundation will be provided to the affected and displaced persons in the states of Darfur and West Darfur in particular, noting that the support comes in response to the resentment announced by the sovereign delegation in West Darfur state led by the Vice-President of the Sovereign Council, Lieutenant-General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo.

For his part, the Emirati ambassador in Khartoum stressed that the humanitarian support comes in the implementation of the directives of the UAE’s supreme leadership, within an air and sea bridge, in support of those affected in Darfur, within the framework of the eternal and developing relations between Sudan and the Emirates.

He said that the UAE is keen to continue its support for Sudan, within the framework of the duty necessitated by the bilateral and brotherly relations between them.
