New Iranian Ambassador Arrives in Sudan to Assume his Duties

The new Iranian ambassador to Sudan, Hassan Shah Hosseini, arrived in the temporary administrative capital, Port Sudan, two days ago to officially assume his duties.
Shah assumes his duties as the first ambassador of his country to Sudan after the severing of relations between Khartoum and Tehran for more than ten years.
According to information from Almohagig the Sudanese ambassador to Iran, Abdul Aziz Hassan Saleh, will head to Tehran after the end of the presidential elections, the second round of which is expected to be held next Friday.
It is worth noting that Sudan and Iran decided to resume diplomatic relations between them during the presidency of the late Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi, who was martyred in the crash of his plane with Foreign Minister Hussein Abdullahian last May, where former Foreign Minister Ali Al-Sadiq held a meeting with the late Iranian Foreign Minister Abdullahian and they decided to restore relations between the two countries and return them to normal and resume diplomatic work between the two countries by opening embassies.
Al-Sadiq described at the time the severing of relations as not being done for sound reasons.
