General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, president of the Transitional Sovereign Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, witnessed the signing ceremony of an agreement between the Export Development Group, part of the Defense Industries System, and the Chinese AHCOF Group to develop Sudan’s agricultural sector. The ceremony took place in Beijing, on the sidelines of the ongoing China-Africa Cooperation Forum.

The agreement was signed by Engineer Aladdin Osman Al-As on behalf of the Export Development Group and Mr. Babi Ehan, Director of AHCOF Group, a leading company in the agricultural sector. The agreement aims to enhance and modernize the agricultural sector in Sudan.

The signing ceremony was also attended by Sudan’s Minister of Finance, Dr. Gibril Ibrahim, the Director General of the Defense Industries System, Lieutenant General Mirghani Idris Suleiman, as well as senior members of both groups.

In a press statement, Babi Ehan, Chairman of AHCOF Group, emphasized the significance of the agreement, noting that it would bolster joint cooperation between Sudan and China in the development of Sudan’s agricultural sector, and strengthen economic ties between the two countries. He highlighted that AHCOF is one of the largest importers of Sudanese agricultural products.

“With the signing of this agreement, we aim to increase our imports of oilseeds from Sudan, and I hope this will further enhance and expand the cooperative relationship between the two nations, particularly in the development of the agricultural sector,” Ehan stated.
