Sudan Liberation Movement/Army Statement of Condemnation and Warning

Sadiq Ali Al-Noor

Spokesperson for the Sudan Liberation Movement/Army

In a new act of brutality and an unprecedented attack, several villages in North Darfur state, specifically in the areas of (Bir Meza, Braidik, Donki Ba’ashim, and Dreshqi), were subjected to a horrifying and treacherous assault by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militias. The militias used heavy weapons, machine guns, and snipers, resulting in hundreds of deaths and injuries. Many were also tortured and subjected to looting and the destruction of their property, with several villages being burned down. These villages include:

In light of media blackouts, these practices are ongoing, and we fear the occurrence of massacres similar to those in West Darfur, where the Masalit tribe faced genocide. We have learned that the RSF militias are planning to commit war crimes and crimes against humanity, potentially resulting in one of the worst atrocities in human history. These intentions are evident in the hateful, racist rhetoric coming from RSF leaders, who have rallied from across Sudan, aiming for revenge and vengeance against the people of North Darfur.

In the face of this heinous crime, the Sudan Liberation Movement warns the RSF militias, other militias, and political forces against committing such atrocities, as the day of reckoning is approaching. They must awaken their consciences and stop playing with the future of Sudan and its people. The movement condemns the shelling of villages and IDP camps, as well as the assault and siege of civilians to starve and extort them, regardless of the reasons or motivations.
