Lieutenant General Shams al-Din Kabashi, Member of the Sovereignty Council and Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, addressed the Sudanese-Egyptian media delegation:

  • The army remains in control, and you will soon witness developments on the ground that favor the state and its citizens, God willing.
  • We rejected Secretary Blinken’s address to President al-Burhan as “General al-Burhan of the Armed Forces,” and he has since apologized for this.
  • We insisted on a delegation representing the government, not just the armed forces.
  • The people demand tangible actions, not mere words, and they are right to do so. We assure them that positive changes are on the horizon.
  • We oppose the expansion of the Jeddah platform and do not wish for new mediators beyond Saudi Arabia, the United States, and the African Union, as was the case in Jeddah.
  • The United States is playing a game of tactics, but we are seeking a just peace agreement that fulfills the people’s demands and ensures compensation for the significant harm they have endured.
  • President al-Burhan has informed Mohammed bin Zayed that the UAE is supporting the militia militarily, politically, and diplomatically, and they must cease this support. Bin Zayed has promised to respond to these accusations.
  • If the people’s demands are not met, we will continue the fight.
  • The United States must demonstrate its commitment to implementing the Jeddah Agreement; no one can dictate our decisions.
  • We have a clear strategy for implementing the Jeddah Declaration, and we will not participate in the Geneva talks in their current form unless it is to discuss the implementation of the Jeddah resolutions within specified timelines.
  • The foundations of the state are strong, and El Fasher will not fall, God willing.
