Sudan’s TSC President addresses the Arab and Islamic Summit in Riyadh

President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, affirmed the solidarity of the government and people of Sudan with the Palestinian people, hailing their steadfastness, just and legitimate struggle to establish their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.

His Excellency said, while addressing the activities of the joint Arab-Islamic Summit in the Saudi capital; Riyadh on Monday, that a just, comprehensive and lasting peace in the Middle East region will not be achieved except by ending the complete Israeli occupation of all occupied Arab territories, including the Syrian Golan, in accordance with the Security Council resolutions and what was stipulated in the Arab Peace Initiative adopted in 2002.
TSC President added, “We join our voice with you all in appealing to the international community to accelerate the implementation of the two-state solution, cease fire, prevent the expansion of the conflict in the region, stop the forced displacement of the people of Gaza, and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid to the displaced and refugees.”
Hereunder is unofficial translation of the text of the speech of His Excellency President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council before the Arab and Islamic Summit:
Riyadh, November 11, 2024
In the name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
And peace and blessings be upon the most honorable of all creation, our Master Mohamed, and upon his family
and companions
His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques
His Royal Highness, Prince Mohamed bin Salman, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
Your Majesties, Excellencies, Highnesses
Ladies and Gentlemen
Peace, mercy and blessings of Allah Almighty be upon you
First, I would like to express my sincere graduates and appreciation to the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for their warm welcome and their usual generous hospitality.
Ladies and Gentlemen, Distinguished Guests..
Despite the circumstances and challenges my country is going through, I was keen to attend this summit, out of our keenness in Sudan and our firm belief in joint action, cooperation and solidarity with all countries and institutions to achieve security, stability and peace for our peoples and countries, and that this will only be achieved through concerted and integrated efforts and sincere intentions to resolve conflicts and crises.
Your Majesties, Excellencies and Highnesses,
We appreciate the pioneering and growing role of the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in supporting and backing the issues of the Arab, Islamic and humanity in all parts of the world, including in my country. We also appreciate its strong and noble position in support of the Palestinian cause and its tireless efforts to stop the recent and ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, southern Lebanon and Syrian territories.
Your Majesties, Excellencies and Highnesses
The hosting of this conference and the previous one, the first meeting of the International Coalition, by the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia a few days ago, at its generous initiative, came at an appropriate time.
In this context, I would like to affirm, on behalf of the government and people of Sudan, our full solidarity with the Palestinian people and we salute their steadfastness and just and legitimate struggle to establish their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.

We affirm that a just, comprehensive and lasting peace in the Middle East will not be achieved except by ending the complete Israeli occupation of all occupied Arab territories, including the Syrian Golan, in accordance with the Security Council resolutions and the provisions of the Arab Peace Initiative adopted in 2002. We join our voice with all of you in appealing to the international community to speed up the implementation of the two-state solution, cease fire, prevent the expansion of the conflict in the region, stop the forced displacement of the people of Gaza, and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid to the displaced and refugees. There is no doubt that you have followed the dangerous practices of the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia that aim at vandalization of the Sudanese state, starve and displace the Sudanese people in blatant defiance of international humanitarian law and international charters and norms as well as committing crimes no less or even more serious than the crimes of the Israeli occupation in Gaza and Lebanon.
I assure you that the great Sudanese people with their history and civilization, along with the support and assistance of their siblings and friends are able to get out to safety and peace.
In conclusion..
I renew my appreciation for the growing role of the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in serving Arab, Islamic and humanity issues as a whole.
I confirm from this platform our readiness to work with our siblings in the Arab and Islamic worlds and all peace-loving friends in the international community to work together to put an end to all conflicts and disputes in the world.
