General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, Chairman of the Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), asserted that the resolve of the Sudanese people and their rallying behind the military are the ultimate guarantees for achieving total victory over the “rebel militia.”
Speaking after Friday prayers at the Sheikh Al-Hadiya Mosque in Al-Kalakla Al-Qubba, Al-Burhan lauded the local residents and community initiatives, describing Al-Kalakla as a living model of steadfastness and resistance against injustice and rebellion.
A Message to Skeptics
Addressing those questioning the stability of the country, Al-Burhan stated: “Al-Kalakla serves as an example for all Sudanese who have chosen reconstruction and national unity. It is the strongest response to those claiming the country is unsafe in an attempt to obstruct the return of citizens.”
He urged the public not to be misled by “doubters, lurkers, traitors, and agents” who oppose the return of displaced persons. Al-Burhan called on Sudanese citizens to return and contribute to the rehabilitation of vital facilities, announcing that stability has been restored across vast areas.
“The return of citizens to their homes is a voluntary choice,” he noted, adding that the upcoming holy month of Ramadan would be a time of gathering for all returnees.
The Price of Resilience
The Commander-in-Chief paid tribute to the Sudanese people’s sacrifices, noting that citizens have given everything—lives and property—to ensure security. “We are beginning to reap the fruits of this resilience, which came at a heavy cost. We assure you that the sacrifices of the people’s sons will not be in vain.”
Stern Warning to Political Groups Abroad
Al-Burhan sent a pointed message to foreign nations hosting Abdalla Hamdok and his political group, accusing them of working against their own people and becoming “outcasts” due to their actions.
He emphasized that the Sudanese people would not accept their return as long as they continued to tour global capitals. “Do not think of returning to this country. The people who suffered from your conspiracies will not open the doors for you again,” he warned. “Your feet shall not tread on Sudanese soil while you beg [for political favors] in the name of the Sudanese people’s cause.”
Refuting Allegations
The Sovereignty Council head dismissed claims made by this group regarding the SAF’s alleged use of chemical weapons. He described the SAF as a “national institution,” stating that such baseless allegations would find no audience among the Sudanese people. He added that the public—whom he identified as being one with the military—would hold accountable anyone attempting to smear the army’s reputation.
Ultimatum to Rebels
The General concluded with a warning to the rebels against continued targeting of civilians in El Obeid and Al Dilling, stressing that the SAF will not hesitate to protect its citizens.
“Victory is near,” Al-Burhan concluded.
