Brown Land News Reports Alleged Weapons Transfer to UAE Base in Bosaso
Bosaso, Somalia — Brown Land News has obtained a video that appears to show a transfer of military weapons from Bosaso Port to the Puntland Maritime Police Force (PMPF) military base at approximately 1:00 a.m. early this morning, according to the outlet’s investigation.
The video, shared with Brown Land News by local sources, allegedly shows weapons being offloaded after arriving in Bosaso aboard a vessel identified as Pioneer Eagle, which sources claim transported the shipment from the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
According to Brown Land News, the alleged transfer raises serious concerns that the UAE continues to engage in military activities inside Somalia, despite existing federal directives aimed at halting foreign military interference. The outlet argues that such actions, if confirmed, contribute to the militarization of regional administrations, including Puntland, and undermine Somalia’s national unity and sovereignty.
As part of its investigation, Brown Land News reviewed maritime tracking data related to the vessel Pioneer Eagle. The analysis indicates that the ship’s radar transponder was reportedly switched off between 26 January 2026 and 5 February 2026, a period during which its movements were not visible on public tracking systems. Maritime experts note that disabling a vessel’s tracking system can be used to conceal port visits and cargo activities, though definitive intent cannot be established without further evidence.
Somalia’s federal government has repeatedly stated its opposition to unauthorized foreign military involvement, warning that such activities risk destabilizing the country and weakening central authority.
At the time of publication, no official response had been issued by the Puntland administration, the Federal Government of Somalia, or the Government of the United Arab Emirates regarding the allegations. Brown Land News reports that it has sought comment from all relevant parties.
The situation remains under investigation, and Brown Land News says it will continue to monitor developments and publish updates as more information becomes available.
