The American special envoy to Sudan in Saudi Arabia.

     The American special envoy to Sudan, Tom Perriello, arrived in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and met today with Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister Walid Al-Kharji. The Saudi media contented itself with publishing the news of the interview by saying that the meeting discussed “developments in the situation in Sudan and “issues of common interest.”

 The Special Envoy’s tour comes as part of an effort to resume the Jeddah platform, and he began his visits to Egypt, then Addis Ababa, Kenya, and Uganda.

 Also, the African Peace and Security Council, at the meeting of presidents early last week, assigned a presidential committee headed by Museveni to bring Al-Burhan and Hemedti together, and Museveni’s consultations are still ongoing in order to convince the two parties to meet.
