Minister of Cabinet Affairs Confirms Breakthroughs in International Cooperation

Dr. Lamia Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, has confirmed that the “Government of Hope” has achieved breakthroughs in the field of international cooperation.

During a press conference in Khartoum yesterday, she noted the Prime Minister’s participation in and address to the United Nations Conference, in addition to his address to the Security Council session, during which he presented the government’s initiative to achieve peace in Sudan.

She added that the initiative has garnered international, regional, and local acceptance, and its importance lies in the fact that it is purely Sudanese. It includes a ceasefire, the assembly of militia fighters in camps, as well as the return of displaced persons and refugees, humanitarian aid, and the disarmament of the militia.

Lamia confirmed that Dr. Kamil Idris has commenced the establishment of mechanisms to implement the initiative at the internal level, by presenting it to political forces, tribal administrations, civil society organizations, universities, and the private sector, leading to a Sudanese-Sudanese dialogue.

The Minister reaffirmed the Government of Hope’s commitment to peace and the opening of all humanitarian corridors requested by organizations working in the humanitarian field to deliver food to those in need.
