The Lebanese Front: Over 1,100 Operations
Including a Significant Operation Targeting an Israeli Warship

Since its outbreak on March 2nd, the Lebanese front has witnessed escalating military activity as part of Operation Protective Edge, launched by the Islamic Resistance, Hezbollah, in response to the ongoing Israeli aggression against Lebanon, as announced in its official statements.
The strength, intensity, and sophistication of Hezbollah’s operations came as a complete surprise to the Israeli side, both politically and in terms of intelligence. Israel had been certain that the Lebanese resistance was “finished”—as it had repeatedly declared—after the blows it suffered during 2014 and 2015.
However, it became clear on the ground that the party had unexpectedly recovered during that period, managing to maintain most of its capabilities and military arsenal, in addition to replenishing and repairing what it had lost.
In this context, Hezbollah announced a few days ago that it had carried out over 1,100 operations against Israeli forces and targets since the beginning of the war. During its first month, as a result of the ground battles in southern Lebanon, the Lebanese resistance confirmed that it had destroyed or damaged 136 Israeli tanks, in addition to 12 military bulldozers and 14 other military vehicles. This hindered the Israeli forces’ advance into Lebanese territory and thwarted their plans for a rapid occupation of Lebanon up to the Litani River, an objective publicly declared by the Israeli leadership.
On March 26, Hezbollah carried out 94 military operations, an absolute record for the number of operations in a 24-hour period in the entire history of the conflict with Israel.
On April 1, Lebanese fighters shot down an Israeli military helicopter for the first time since the beginning of the war.
Furthermore, on April 3 and 4, Hezbollah fighters conducted sniper operations for the first time since the start of the war, wounding three Israeli soldiers.
The following day, April 5, 2026, the Lebanese resistance carried out a new and unprecedented operation, the first of its kind since 2006, by striking an Israeli warship at sea. An official statement was issued in this regard, which read as follows:
“”Now at sea, the Israeli warship that attacked our infrastructure, people’s homes, and civilians, look at it burning”.
In defense of Lebanon and its people, and in response to the Israeli enemy’s continued bombing of villages and cities, destruction of infrastructure, and displacement of civilians, the mujahideen of the Islamic Resistance targeted an Israeli warship at 00:05 on Sunday, April 5, 2026, 68 nautical miles off the Lebanese coast, which was preparing to carry out its attacks on Lebanese territory; The targeting operation was carried out with a naval cruise missile after the target was monitored for hours, and a direct hit was confirmed”.
It is worth noting that the first paragraph of this statement is a quote from a statement by the late Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, issued in conjunction with a similar operation that took place during the Second Lebanon War in 2006. That operation was the first of its kind at the time, occurring during the Second Lebanon War, and was not repeated until just two days ago.
More than a month after the start of the conflict, the Israeli army has been unable to achieve its objective of occupying Lebanese territory up to the Litani River. As a result, some of its officials have stated that the objective has changed to establishing a “buffer zone” only a few kilometers wide in the aforementioned area.
In recent days, in southern Lebanon along the Lebanese-Israeli border, the Israeli army has been carrying out demolition and bombing operations targeting buildings and residential homes in what amounts to genocide, not the establishment of a “buffer zone.” This is something the world witnessed firsthand in the Gaza Strip and is now being repeated in Lebanon.
