All major Sudanese newspapers ceased printing

Exclusive to Brown Land Newspaper

Salah Omer Al-Sheikh, the Secretary-General of the Sudanese Journalists Union, stated to Brown Land newspaper that all 20 printed Sudanese newspapers have ceased operations and printing. Consequently, more than 2,500 journalists have stopped working, and now some of them work in electronic newspapers, while many have left the field of journalism and turned to other jobs that align with the economic situation in Sudan, most of which are marginal jobs.
The estimated statistics for the number of deaths are around 13 journalists who died as a result of gunfire and bombings, and these statistics are not accurate due to the lack of a mechanism to gather this information because of the war.
Information also indicates that hundreds of journalists have lost their lives due to chronic diseases and lack of healthcare.
The printing presses that were responsible for printing newspapers, of which there were five, have also stopped operating, putting hundreds of workers out of jobs. Additionally, the distribution and advertising companies, numbering over 40 registered with the commercial registry, have ceased operations, leaving hundreds of employees and workers without jobs.
