Head of the mediation delegation, Tut Qalwak, arrives in Sudan

Khartoum 4-27-2021 — Arriving this evening, Counselor Tut Qalwak, advisor to the President of the Republic of South Sudan for Security, leads a high-ranking delegation for Juba negotiations for Sudan’s peace.

He was received at Khartoum Airport by a member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Colonel General Shams El-Din Kabbashi.

His Excellency said that his visit to Khartoum was to see the progress of the implementation of the peace agreement and to inform the Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan and Vice President of the Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General Muhammad Hamdan Dagalo, on the ongoing arrangements in Juba to receive the next round of negotiations next May.

Tut Qalwak and his accompanying delegation arrived in the country after offering condolences on behalf of President Salva Kiir on the death of Chadian President Idriss Deby.
