Sovereignty Council Meets the Envoys of Troika Countries

Lt-Gen Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo(First Vice-President of the Sovereignty Council), Lt-Gen Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan(Chairman of the Transitional Sovereign Council), Lt-Gen Shams El Din Kabbashi(member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council), and Lt-Gen Yasser Al-Atta(member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council) met the envoys of the Troika countries; US Envoy Ambassador Donald Booth, UK Envoy Mr. Bob Fairweather, and Norwegian Envoy Mr. Andrei Stansen.

Their separate meetings discussed the process of implementing the Juba Agreement for the Peace of Sudan, especially Darfur, the implementation of the Juba Peace Agreement, and dialogue with the People’s Movement-North led by Abdel Aziz Al-Hilu and the Sudan Liberation Movement led by Abdel Wahid Mohamed Nour.

They praised the efforts undertaken by these countries to support the peace process in Sudan.

And stressed the availability of the will and keenness of all parties to move forward with the implementation of the peace agreement, pointing to the progress that took place in implementing several items, especially security arrangements and the formation of forces to protect civilians.

The British envoy, Bob Fairweather, said, in a press statement, that the meeting dealt with several issues related to the implementation of the Juba Peace Agreement and related files, and praised the progress made in implementing the agreement.
