The Chairman of the Transitional Sovereign Council, Lieutenant-General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a joint press conference after the talks that took place between the two sides this evening at the Presidential Palace in Ankara.

The Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant-General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, praised the Turkish positions in support of Sudan during the transitional period and its support for the change brought about by the Sudanese people of freedom, justice, and peace.

The President of the Sovereign Council expressed his thanks and appreciation for the invitation he received from President Erdogan to visit Turkey.

He referred to the strength and timelessness of the two countries’ relations and Sudan’s keenness to strengthen them to build the future of the two countries, pointing to the prestigious position occupied by Turkey at the regional and international levels.

Al-Burhan said that the values ​​of justice, freedom, and peace sought by Sudan through the December revolution were embodied by Turkey through peaceful coexistence among all its societal components.

The Chairman of the Sovereignty Council described his visit to Turkey as a starting point for consolidating the foundations of cooperation and brotherly building between the two brotherly countries and peoples.

His Excellency pledged to bring the agreements signed by Sudan with Turkey to the ground to benefit Sudan and Turkey.

The Chairman of the Sovereignty Council invited the Turkish President to visit Sudan to enhance communication at the level of officials in the two countries.

The Turkish president stated that the talks touched on bilateral relations, regional issues, and the great transformation that Sudan is witnessing thanks to the December revolution.

His Excellency indicated that it was agreed to activate the work of the Supreme Committee and the joint ministerial committees and develop cooperation in energy and defense industries.

The Turkish president affirmed that Turkey will continue to support Sudan in the next stage, especially in the field of infrastructure, and consultations between the two countries will continue to achieve common interests.

Erdogan said that Sudan is a friendly country to Turkey, which have been linked by common cultures since a long time ago, and that the visit will bring good tidings to a new stage in the relations of the two countries.

His Excellency added that Sudan, in the stage led by Al-Burhan, has achieved great achievements and will reach its prestigious position in the near future.

His Excellency urged the necessity of peacefully addressing the border issues between Sudan and Ethiopia to achieve stability in the region.
