
FVP of Sovereignty Council Meets with South Sudanese Presidential Advisor, Tut Qalwak

Khartoum 30/09/2021 — The First Vice-President of the Transitional Sovereign Council, Commander of the Rapid Support Forces, Lieutenant-General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, met the Security Affairs Adviser to the President of South Sudan, the mediator of the Juba Agreement for Peace in Sudan, Tut Qalwak today, who handed him a message from President Salva Kiir Mayardt related to the political situation in Sudan.

The meeting discussed the progress of the implementation of the Juba Agreement for Peace in Sudan, especially the security arrangements clause, as well as the political issues in the two countries.
In a press statement after the meeting, Tut Qalwak said that he was briefed on the implementation position of the peace agreement, pointing out that joint sessions were set in which the Supreme Committee to monitor the agreement and the Revolutionary Front would participate to arrange the entry of forces to the camps to complete the file of security arrangements.

Qalwak stated that a schedule for implementing the Juba Peace Agreement was also agreed upon, to speed up the implementation process
The situation in Sudan confirms the existence of peace.
Tut said that President Salva Kiir asked the Sudanese parties to calm down, adding: “We are very optimistic,” explaining that he will meet with the Prime Minister, political forces, and the parties to the peace agreement, to hold sessions to reach solutions that bring together all parties to the peace process.
Qalwak affirmed that the Sudanese leadership in the Sovereignty and Ministers Councils can solve the political problems in the country, pointing out that the political situations in both countries are affected by each other, and said: “We are One People in Two States.”
