
Transitional Sovereignty Council Chairman, Al-Burhan, Receives the Credentials of the British Ambassador in Khartoum

Today, Lieutenant-General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, received the credentials of Ambassador Giles Leifer, Ambassador accredited to Sudan, in the presence of Dr. Maryam Al-Sadiq Al-Mahdi, Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The Chairman of the Sovereignty Council stressed, during the ceremony of receiving the ambassador’s credentials, Sudan’s keenness to develop its relations and enhance bilateral cooperation with Britain in all fields to serve common interests.

For his part, the ambassador expressed his happiness to work in Sudan, stressing his country’s keenness to strengthen relations and open prospects for joint cooperation between Sudan and Britain. Describing the historical and distinguished relations in its various fields.
In a press statement, the British ambassador affirmed his country’s full support for the democratic transition in Sudan, indicating the importance of developing bilateral relations between the two countries to broader horizons. He explained that his country will work during the transitional period to support peace-building operations and strengthen the government’s efforts to achieve the goals of the transitional fields.
