Sovereign Council Member Malik Agar participates in Former Kenyan President’s Funeral

Nairobi – 29/04/2022 — A member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council Malik Aqar participated in the funeral ceremony of former Kenyan President Mwai Kibaki, which took place this evening, at the Nyayo National Stadium in the capital, Nairobi, in the presence of Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta, a number of African presidents and representatives of diplomatic missions and international and regional organizations.

Addressing the funeral ceremony, Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta praised the efforts of the late President Kibaki in promoting peace in Africa, and his keenness for the continent to remain united, enjoying security, stability, development, and free from conflicts and disputes.

Kenyatta saluted his predecessor Kibaki and said, “He is a great political leader,” pointing to the reforms Kenya witnessed during his reign, which made it a united and prosperous country. He expressed his thanks and appreciation to the presidents and delegations that participated in the Kenyan people and their government and expressed their sadness and sympathy for the departure of President Mwai.

A number of presidents and representatives of delegations spoke praising the great efforts made by the late President Mwai Kibaki to lay the foundations for stability and security on the continent. Expressing their sadness at the death of former Kenyan President Mwai Kibaki, noting his important contribution to Kenya’s development.

President Mwai Kibaki, who died at the age of 90, held the presidency from 2002 to 2013 and is considered one of the political and economic leaders in Africa.
