Khartoum: 21/09/2022 – Lieutenant-General Abdel Fattah Al Burhan Abdel Rahman, Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, headed this morning to New York City at the head of the Sudan delegation participating in the work of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
He was seen off at Khartoum Airport by the Vice-President of the Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant-General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo.
His Excellency is scheduled to deliver Sudan’s speech before the United Nations General Assembly on Thursday, 22 September. He will also participate in high-level meetings to discuss strengthening multilateral cooperation concerning various international and regional issues, in addition to the challenges facing the international community such as climate change and the food crisis and its consequences, especially in developing and least developed countries.
On the sidelines of the 77th session, the President of the Sovereignty Council will meet with several presidents from different countries of the world and representatives from international and regional organizations, to discuss ways of bilateral cooperation and the role of multilateral cooperation within the framework of the United Nations Organization to build a more stable future.
Over the course of a week, about 150 heads of state and government from all over the world will deliver their speeches at this annual meeting. to which the world’s attention is directed.
The President of the Sovereignty Council is accompanied by Ambassador Ali Al-Sadiq, the designated Minister of Foreign Affairs.
