Military Component Step Down Announcement
Osman Mirghani
The best decision which the President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, 1st Lt. Gen. Abdul Fattah Al-Burhan is to determine a date for the step down of the military component and exiting the political scene a matter that will put the civilian political civilian components at stake of consensus over a government to take over power.
Since his address of 4th July 2022 when Al-Burhan announced that the army is committed to hand over power to civilian and the formation of Supreme Council for the Sudanese Armed Forces.
However, if Al-Burhan determined a specific date for ending the existence of the military component in the Republican Palace – say by the end of current November – then the only way for the political forces is to arrange for the constitutional structures to take over power, otherwise the country will suffer a ministerial and constitutional vacuum. In this case all the parties will be facing the reality within the failure in reaching national consensus to bring an end to the ongoing crisis.
One of the worst phases of the current crisis is that all the parties are not able to feel the timing element.
Forty million Sudanese people are eagerly waiting for the day of salvation from the political crisis to deal with the quest of development, prosperity and before that dignity, while the political rivals are quarreling over power-share.
