The Vice-President of the Sovereign Council, Lieutenant General Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, returned to the country this evening, concluding one-day official visit to the city of Juba, the capital of the Republic of South Sudan.
He was received at Khartoum Airport by the Secretary-General of the TSC, Lieutenant General Muhammad Al-Ghali Ali Youssef.
Daglo stated, in a press statement, that the visit aims to support peace issues in the two countries and secure borders.
He pointed out that during his meeting with the President of the Republic of South Sudan, Salva Kiir Mayardit, they discussed issues of implementing the Juba Peace Agreement for Sudan, and the peace agreement signed between the parties in the State of South Sudan, as well as ways to facilitate the transportation of the oil of the South through Sudan.
The Vice-President of the Sovereignty Council added that the two sides held joint official talks, dealt with issues of national security for the two countries, opening the crossings, and removing the obstacles facing the Sudanese residing in the state of the south.
TSC Vice-President was accompanied by Lieutenant General Ahmed Ibrahim Mufaddal, Director of the General Intelligence Service, Major General Muhammad Ali Saber, Director of the Military Intelligence Authority, and Major General Al Khair Abdullah, Head of the Intelligence Department of the Rapid Support Forces.
