Ambassador Muhammad Abdullah Ali Al-Tom, Chargé d’Affaires of the Sudanese Embassy in Cairo, said that the visit of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, Chairman of the Sovereignty Council, to Egypt, which is the first foreign visit of His Excellency since the outbreak of the Rapid Support militia’s rebellion against the state on April 15, comes as a natural step that confirms what brings together Sudan and Egypt have special and distinguished relations. He pointed out that the visit also illustrates the importance of Egypt for Sudan in this delicate circumstance, especially since Egypt is considered one of the countries most affected by what is happening in Sudan and the devastation and destruction left behind by the Rapid Support militia rebellion that led to the displacement and refuge of hundreds of thousands of Sudanese to it, as it opened its doors and heart for them to reside. There are now two honorable dear ones, which confirms the depth and solidity of this relationship.
In this context, according to Ambassador Al-Tom, His Excellency Mr. President Al-Burhan has expressed to his brother, His Excellency President Al-Sisi and the Egyptian government, his deep appreciation and the appreciation of the people of Sudan for the appreciated efforts made by the Egyptian leadership and government to facilitate the residence of Sudanese in the Arab Republic of Egypt and the hospitality and good care they find, stressing that This noble brotherly position in supporting Sudan and the Sudanese at various levels reflects the depth of the special relationship that binds the two peoples and the two countries and will remain a source of pride and appreciation.
Ambassador Muhammad Al-Tom stated that President Al-Burhan put his brother, His Excellency President Al-Sisi, in the picture of the developments that Sudan is currently witnessing and the efforts of the armed forces to end the RSF rebellion and confront its plans. He added that the two presidents also discussed efforts led by Egypt with neighboring countries to deal with the situation in Sudan within the framework of Egypt’s leadership role in this regard, after it had taken the initiative to host the summit of Sudan’s neighboring countries on July 13. Mr. President Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan appreciated these efforts and affirmed his blessing and support for the initiative and the steps taken in this endeavour.
Ambassador Muhammad Abdullah Al-Tom noted that His Excellency President Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan also discussed with his brother, His Excellency President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, ways and prospects for developing trade and economic cooperation between the two countries during this period, given that Egypt represents an important outlet and source through which many commodities and urgent needs can be provided. Sudan in these exceptional circumstances. He said that the two sides agreed on the need to activate work at the land crossings between the two countries and increase their capacity to cope with the current reality of increasing their use and importance. The two presidents also agreed on the importance of developing bilateral cooperation formulas in many fields to accommodate the requirements of the stage that Sudan is currently going through.
