Yesterday, I met in my office in Port Sudan with the Federal Minister of Health, Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, in the presence of the Minister of Health of the Blue Nile Region, Dr. Gamal Nasser, and Director of the National Agency for Emergency Care and Ambulance, Dr. Mohieddin Hassan, and Director of the Executive Office of the National Fund for Medical Supplies, Dr. Sheikh Al-Din Abdul Baqi.
The Federal Minister of Health, affirmed the Ministry’s commitment to supporting the health sector in the Blue Nile Region. We also discussed the health conditions in the region, pointing out the displacement and return of citizens, which increased the population density, the Minister also committed to providing urgent ambulance to some of its areas.
The Federal Minister assured me that they will carry out some urgent interventions, in addition to implementing some projects (CT scans, oxygen station, national ambulance), indicating his ministry’s readiness to supplement the shortcomings in the medical devices and equipment of the Chinese hospital after its restart, pointing to the preparation of a future vision that includes stabilizing and developing health services in the region.
I directed a meeting with the Governor of the Blue Nile Region and the Minister of Health and to make urgent interventions, including providing first aid to some areas and the necessity of accelerating the establishment of an oxygen station, in addition to facilitating the work of medical supplies.
May God protect Sudan and the people of Sudan
