Khashm Al-Qirbah, January 30, 2024:

President of the Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, praised the Sudanese people for standing firmly alongside the government forces in the battle for dignity.

During his address to officers and soldiers of the 11th Infantry Division in Khashm Al-Qirbah, Al-Burhan commended the citizens of Kassala State for their steadfast support against the Rapid Support Forces militia’s rebellion. He expressed condolences for the martyrs of the armed forces, security agencies, and citizens across the country.

Al-Burhan hailed the Sudanese youth who responded to the nation’s call, joining the armed forces to confront the rebellion. He also praised those maintaining readiness, considering them the safety valve for achieving security and stability.

The Commander-in-Chief highlighted the grave violations committed by the rebels against citizens and infrastructure. He emphasized the Armed Forces’ unwavering progress to end the rebellion, assuring that they would move from all directions, relying on the will and determination of the Sudanese people.

Regarding the rebel leader’s misleading statements, Al-Burhan asserted that the rebels attack innocent civilians while falsely claiming citizens come to their locations. He vowed to pursue and hold the rebellion’s leader accountable for crimes such as theft, looting, murder, and rape.

Al-Burhan stated that the Sudanese people would never forget the crimes of the Rapid Support Forces militia, describing them as unethical violations that do not represent the Sudanese people. He exposed the rebel leader’s intent to initiate a dirty war to dismantle social bonds within Sudanese society.

Addressing negotiations, Al-Burhan emphasized that any negotiation must safeguard citizens’ rights. He rejected external imposition of solutions, urging politicians to seek resolutions within the country. He conveyed a message to Prime Minister Hamdok that any meeting should take place within Sudan.

Al-Burhan appreciated Eritrea’s President Isaias Afwerki and his people for their support during the crisis. He also acknowledged the solidarity of South Sudan, along with some friendly and sisterly countries.

President Al-Burhan reiterated his commitment, along with the Armed Forces and the Sudanese people, to defeat this heinous rebellion.
