Sudanese Army Commander Abdul Fattah al-Burhan rejects external intervention to resolve the country’s conflict

emphasizing that no party can impose measures on Sudan. He states that the Sovereignty Council does not engage with any mediators, whether in Juba or Cairo, and dismisses the relevance of the IGAD organization to Sudanese affairs. Al-Burhan urges the former Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdok to come to Sudan and engage with local political forces instead of foreign entities. The coordination committee for civil democratic forces previously announced Hamdok’s delegation heading to Juba as part of international efforts for a peaceful resolution and addressing the humanitarian crisis. Sudan had earlier suspended its IGAD membership, as declared by the Foreign Ministry earlier this month.
