After an eight-year boycott , the Sudanese Foreign Minister in Tehran

Iran’s Tasnim news agency revealed that Sudan’s Foreign Minister, Ali Al-Sadiq Ali, is set to arrive in Tehran today for his first visit to the Iranian capital after the resumption of diplomatic relations between the two countries, ending an 8-year hiatus. The visit follows an invitation extended by Iranian Foreign Minister Hussein Amir Abdollahian.

During the visit, Sudan’s Foreign Minister is expected to engage in negotiations with Iranian officials. A statement indicated that both sides agreed to expand cooperation across various fields to safeguard their interests and promote security and stability in the region. Additionally, they agreed to take necessary steps to open embassies in each other’s countries in the near future and coordinate official delegations to explore ways to enhance bilateral cooperation.

According to a report from the American news agency Bloomberg, Western officials claimed that Iran supplied the Sudanese army with “Mohajer 6” drones capable of surveillance and transporting explosives.
