Outcomes of Al-Burhan’s visit to Egypt
The head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General Abdul Fattah al-Burhan, and the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi held a joint session of talks at the Presidential Palace, discussing ways to enhance and develop bilateral relations for the benefit of both nations. The discussions also covered common areas of cooperation and mutual interests, addressing developments in Sudan.
Al-Burhan expressed appreciation for the strong fraternal relations between the two countries, praising Egypt’s support in maintaining Sudan’s safety, security, and stability. He acknowledged the active role of Egypt in the region under President Sisi’s leadership.
During the talks, Al-Burhan presented the government’s vision to end the war, sustain peace, and ensure stability in Sudan. He highlighted violations and crimes committed by the rebel terrorist Rapid Support Forces against citizens and civilian targets.
President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi affirmed Egypt’s unwavering support for the Sudanese people in achieving security, stability, and unity. He expressed deep appreciation for the level of mutual cooperation between the two nations, emphasizing Egypt’s commitment to strengthening brotherly ties and enhancing relations with Sudan to fulfill the aspirations of both peoples. El-Sisi underscored Egypt’s pride in the historical ties connecting the two sisterly countries at both official and popular levels.
