Some social media circulate fabricated and false allegations, made by the terrorist militia’s propaganda, that the Civil Registry and Passports Mission at the Sudanese Embassy in Kampala refused to issue passports for a group of Sudanese youth due to their tribal origins, which the authors of this false narrative described as “social incubators for the RSF Militia.”

While the Ministry of Foreign Affairs categorically denies the occurrence of such an incident, it points out the following facts:

  1. Processing of applications for new passports is carried out individually and electronically. There is no room for group processing of such applications based on the tribe of the applicants, as indicated in the fabricated story.
  2. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs does not have the authority to ban obtaining passport by any Sudanese citizen, because issuing passports is not within its competence in the first place .
  3. It goes without saying that all Sudanese, regardless of their tribes or communities , are equal in terms of citizenship rights and duties, in keeping with the Government legislations policies. All embassies and their affiliated offices are strictly abiding by this principle .
  4. The crimes and atrocities of the terrorist militia are the responsibility of those who commit them and their leaders, and have nothing to do with the tribes and communities to which they belong. The concerned communities have already absolved themselves of these crimes.
  5. The legal measures taken by the competent authorities against the Militia members, especially after declaring it a terrorist organization, are due to the crimes they committed, not their tribes. Hence, the Militia’s attempt to hide behind the tribe identities to escape responsibility is a cheap propaganda ploy. Moreover, it defeats the claim of the Militia that it represents the entire Sudanese people .
