Member of the Sovereignty Council, Lt. General Engineer Ibrahim Gabir Chairs the meeting of the Othman Digna Port Rehabilitation and Development Committee

Today, a member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Assistant Commander-in-Chief,
, Lt. General Engineer Ibrahim Gabir
chaired the meeting of the Committee for the Rehabilitation and Development of Prince Othman Digna Port in the city of Suakin.

The meeting discussed the outcomes of previous meetings, the items that were agreed upon to be implemented, and the results of work in the arrival and departure halls in light of the approaching Hajj season.

The meeting touched on the importance of joint coordination with engineering companies and institutions related to the management of service and engineering projects to complete the necessary arrangements for the rehabilitation and development of the port.

The Minister of Transport, Engineer Abu Bakr Abu Al-Qasim, explained that the committee provided complete enlightenment on the progress of work in the port and the challenges ahead, indicating that the committee assigned the work to the Engineering Ports Company and a group of engineering companies under the supervision of the Projects Department of the Engineering Ports Authority.

His Excellency stressed that the vision that was presented shows the magnitude of the work in the arrival and departure halls, as well as the rehabilitation and lighting of the road linking Suakin and the National Road with solar energy.

The Minister of Transport stated that the Marine Ports Authority has allocated an estimated budget to rehabilitate the port.
