Meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs with the Acting Iranian President

On the morning of Sunday, May 26, 2024, His Excellency Mr. Hussein Awad Ali, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, met in Tehran with His Excellency Dr. Mohammad Mokhber, the Acting President of Iran. He conveyed condolences on behalf of the President of the Sovereignty Council and the Government and people of Sudan on the passing of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and their accompanying delegation in a helicopter crash last week.

During the meeting, the Minister expressed Sudan’s support and solidarity with Iran during this difficult time, expressing full confidence that Iran will overcome this challenging phase with the wisdom of its leaders and the resilience of its institutions.

In response, the Acting Iranian President thanked the Minister for Sudan’s solidarity and support in this ordeal, affirming that Iran will overcome this under the leadership of the Supreme Leader and according to the frameworks and principles of the established Islamic system.

Additionally, the Minister briefed the Acting Iranian President on the situation in Sudan, detailing the dimensions and intricacies of the conspiracy faced by Sudan, which is orchestrated and supported from abroad. He also highlighted the global media’s misleading coverage and blackout on the brutal practices violating international law and human rights principles committed by the terrorist Rapid Support Forces militia against unarmed citizens during this war.

The Acting Iranian President emphasized their interest in the restoration of stability and calm in Sudan and expressed readiness to provide any assistance in this regard.
