Meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs with the Chinese Minister of Foreign Affairs

  • In his first diplomatic activity leading Sudan’s delegation to the 10th Ministerial Meeting of the China-Arab Cooperation Forum held in Beijing, His Excellency Mr. Hussein Awad Ali, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, met this morning, Tuesday, May 28, 2024, with His Excellency Wang Yi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the friendly People’s Republic of China. Wang Yi is also a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs.
  • The two sides held a fruitful official session in which they reviewed the strong bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and ways to enhance them. During the session, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs briefed on the developments in Sudan, including the war fueled by external hands that Sudan and its people are facing.
  • For his part, Wang Yi explained during the talks that China’s steadfast and supportive stance towards Sudan will not waver, regardless of changing circumstances. He stressed China’s commitment to supporting Sudan in protecting its national sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity, and in rejecting external interference in its internal affairs. He reiterated his support for achieving internal peace and stability in Sudan and for exploring a developmental path that suits its national conditions to create a better future for its people. He also confirmed that China will continue to support Sudan through international platforms.
  • The Acting Minister thanked his Chinese counterpart for his congratulations on assuming office and for China’s continued humanitarian support to Sudan since the outbreak of the treacherous war. He reaffirmed Sudan’s unwavering stance on China’s core issues and emphasized the necessity of continuing cooperation and coordination between the two countries in international forums.
  • The discussions also touched upon the work of the 10th Ministerial Forum, reflecting the deep-rooted and solid China-Arab relations.
