
Member of the Sovereignty Council, Lt. General Engineer Ibrahim Gabir directs Prosecutor General to Document Rebel Militia Violations Against Civilians in East Al-Jazeera

Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Assistant Commander-in-Chief Member of the Sovereignty Council, Lt. General Ibrahim Gabir Engineer Consultant, has instructed the Public Prosecution to document the recent violations committed by rebel militias against unarmed civilians in the East Al-Jazeera region. He also called for legal action to be taken against the perpetrators in both national and international courts.
This directive came during Jaber’s meeting today with Attorney General Al-Fateh Mohammed Isa Tayfour, who, in a press statement, revealed that he had briefed Jaber on the progress of investigations and trials being conducted by the National Committee for Investigating Violations of National Law and International Humanitarian Law. He noted significant progress in the legal processes of apprehending suspects, transferring cases to court, and issuing deterrent sentences. Additionally, he mentioned that new legal cases are being opened regarding the recent widespread violations in Al-Jazeera State.
Tayfour further indicated that the meeting also discussed efforts to extradite fugitives currently outside Sudan and plans to designate new groups as terrorists based on upcoming decisions by the technical committee responsible for implementing the UN Security Council’s resolution on terrorist organizations.
The Attorney General reassured the Sudanese public that the performance of the Public Prosecution is improving and that all violators of the law are being monitored and will face justice. He emphasized the importance of accountability and vowed to prosecute those who commit crimes, violate the rights of Sudanese citizens, loot their property, and spill their blood in fair and just trials.
