Reliable sources confirm the arrival of 86 Colombian mercenaries, along with others from Spain, to the eastern outskirts of El Fasher on November 2. The Colombian fighters reportedly entered Sudan via Libya with the assistance of the Salam Forces, a militia loyal to General Khalifa Haftar. Their mission includes operating artillery systems, drones, and targeting civilian neighborhoods in El Fasher. They are currently stationed in the Jigu Jigu area, east of the city.
Spanish mercenaries have also been identified as snipers operating within El Fasher, particularly in the city’s peripheral neighborhoods in the eastern and southern sectors.
The Colombian mercenaries recently deployed are said to replace another contingent of Colombian fighters who had arrived two months ago. These earlier arrivals reportedly departed today via Hamra Al-Sheikh after two large cargo planes delivered weapons and ammunition on Thursday afternoon.
Notably, the Sudanese Air Force targeted the Jigu Jigu area a few days ago, inflicting significant losses on the foreign mercenaries stationed there.
