
Russian Companies Set to Visit Port Sudan by Year-End and Early Next Year
Sudan’s Minister of Energy and Oil, Dr. Mohieddin Naeem Mohamed Saeed, has affirmed the ministry’s readiness to host delegations from Russian companies, expected to visit the country in two phases: by the end of this year and early next year. This was revealed during his meeting today with the Russian Ambassador to Sudan in his office. The discussions covered a range of investment opportunities Russia plans to pursue in Sudan, particularly in the oil, gas, and electricity sectors.
Dr. Saeed highlighted Sudan’s progress in reaching advanced understandings with Russia in the fields of oil and electricity. He emphasized Sudan’s preference for working with major nations like Russia and China through their leading companies, especially in energy and oil projects situated in secure regions under current conditions.
The Russian ambassador underscored the capacity of major Russian companies to safeguard their investments. He disclosed that a delegation of Russian companies, led by the head of the Russian-Sudanese Intergovernmental Commission, is set to visit Sudan, noting that arrangements for the visit are being made at a high level. He further emphasized Russia’s expertise and readiness to contribute systematically to Sudan’s economic development. This includes sectors such as electricity, oil, railways, industrial development, roads, ports, and overall infrastructure.
