Measures Against Kenyan Interference in Domestic Affairs

Hussein Al-Amin Al-Fadil, Undersecretary of Sudan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, revealed plans for escalating measures against the Kenyan government and its president over their interference in Sudan’s internal affairs. This includes Kenya’s alleged hosting of activities by the terrorist Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia and its allies, which threaten Sudan’s security, stability, and unity.

During a weekly briefing organized by the Sudan News Agency (SUNA) in Port Sudan, Al-Fadil stated that the measures would be “gradual and escalating.” He disclosed that Sudan intends to impose economic sanctions, including a ban on Kenyan imports, particularly tea—a major Sudanese import from Kenya. He emphasized that this step would follow preparatory efforts to secure alternatives.

“We will file complaints with international organizations against Kenya and address the leadership of all bodies where Sudan holds membership,” Al-Fadil said, anticipating international condemnation and actions against Kenya’s meddling.

The Undersecretary accused Kenya of persistently interfering in Sudanese affairs since the outbreak of the war, alleging that Kenyan President William Ruto’s personal ties and interests with RSF leaders drive his support for the rebellion. “Kenya’s claim of seeking a solution to Sudan’s crisis and its commitment to stability is a lie,” Al-Fadil asserted. “How can Kenya host the very militias fueling the war while pretending to advocate for peace?”
