Secretary-General of the Sovereignty Council Praises Media’s Role in the Battle for Dignity and Honor


Port Sudan, March 22, 2025

The Secretary-General of Sudan’s Sovereignty Council, Lt. Gen. Dr. Mohamed Al-Ghali Ali Yusuf, has commended the media for its role in addressing national issues and for its support of the Armed Forces as they fight the battle for dignity and honor to safeguard the country’s achievements.

His remarks came while offering condolences for the fallen television staff at the Republican Palace, in a ceremony held at the Sudan TV headquarters in Port Sudan. He was accompanied by Lt. Gen. Al-Sadiq Ismail Mahmoud, head of the Joint National Committee for Humanitarian Emergencies, and Professor Suleiman Al-Debilou, chairman of the Peace Commission.

Lt. Gen. Al-Ghali emphasized that the media has been a steadfast supporter of the Armed Forces in their efforts to defeat the terrorist rebel militia and cleanse the country of insurgency.

He stressed the importance of national unity in the coming phase to uphold national causes, strengthen the path of peace and development, and fulfill the aspirations of the Sudanese people.

Later, the Secretary-General toured the newly constructed facilities of the Red Sea State TV channel, affirming the government’s commitment to strengthening infrastructure and rebuilding state institutions to restore normalcy.
