Lieutenant General Shams al-Din Kabbashi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief and member of Sudan’s Sovereign Council, underscored the importance of developing comprehensive plans and programs to keep pace with advancements in the media sector. He emphasized the need to unify the country’s internal and external media discourse in order to expose conspiracies targeting Sudan and to document the terrorist militia’s violations against civilians, public property, and national infrastructure.
During a meeting in Port Sudan today with the Minister of Culture and Information, Khalid Al-Elaiser, General Kabbashi praised the critical role of media institutions as vital arms in the Battle of Dignity, particularly in their support for the armed forces and their allied units. He paid tribute to media personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty, describing them as martyrs who made the ultimate sacrifice for the nation.
Kabbashi affirmed the government’s commitment to supporting media organizations and removing the obstacles that hinder their operations, enabling them to report events transparently and professionally from the frontlines.
In a press statement following the meeting, the Minister of Culture and Information stated that the talks addressed key national issues—chief among them the strategic media role played by state institutions in the Battle of Dignity. He noted that the discussions also covered ongoing military developments, reiterating that the armed forces remain resolute in their mission to liberate all Sudanese territory from the rebel militia.
The minister added that the state is implementing coordinated plans and programs—in collaboration with the Ministry of Information—to strengthen media support for the military, in alignment with widespread popular backing for the armed forces.
He concluded by noting that the leadership of the Sovereign Council places great importance on the media’s role in this national struggle.
