The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Ismail Baghaei, has expressed deep concern over the catastrophic situation in the besieged city of El Fasher, Sudan
. He condemned the siege of El Fasher in North Darfur state and the attacks targeting innocent civilians and refugees in Zamzam and Abushouk camps, citing grave concerns over the deteriorating humanitarian situation.
Baghaei called for:
- Immediate Lifting of the Siege: The siege of El Fasher should be lifted immediately.
- Cessation of Attacks: All attacks should be halted.
- Protection of Civilians: The protection of civilian lives should be guaranteed, based on fundamental principles of international humanitarian law.
The spokesperson reiterated Iran’s principled stance supporting Sudan’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial unity ¹.
