The Arab Lawyers Union calls on all living forces and awakened consciences in Sudan to condemn what is called the “Tasis Government”.

Since the outbreak of the Sudan war on April 15, 2025, the Arab Lawyers Union has been closely and diligently monitoring the widespread and systematic crimes and violations committed by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), which operate outside the framework of international humanitarian law and international human rights treaties and agreements. The Union has strongly condemned these acts on several occasions and has even assigned a team of legal experts, members of the Union’s Permanent Office, to investigate these crimes and violations. This team recently submitted its second report just a few weeks ago and continues to work under extremely difficult conditions to ensure that the daily crimes committed by these forces — their leaders, soldiers, and those behind them, including certain politicians and actors blinded by the lure of money and power — are not erased or covered up.

The criminal acts and conspiracies of the RSF and its supporters from political groups and some regional countries have not stopped at the daily killing of the Sudanese people, looting of property, destruction of infrastructure, and rape of women. These actions have now extended to the announcement of what is called the “Tasis Government” in Nyala, South Darfur, and the appointment of the rebel Hemetti as its head, along with other leaders of armed militias as deputies and ministers in this so-called government.

One of the firm principles of the Arab Lawyers Union regarding the Sudan war is the unequivocal affirmation of the unity of Sudanese territory, the integrity of its land, its independence, sovereignty, and its legitimate constitutional authority recognized internationally under the leadership of the Transitional Sovereignty Council headed by General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, and the Cabinet headed by Dr. Kamal Idris.

The attempt to fragment Sudan into mini-states or separate governments is a direct extension of the imperialist-Zionist agenda targeting the Arab world — an agenda that has been openly articulated since the early 1980s under what is known as the “Bernard Lewis Plan”, aimed primarily at weakening the forces that support the Palestinian cause. If it were not for Sudan and its people being well-known for standing with Palestine, they would not have been targeted nor would this devastating war have been ignited, consuming everything in its path.

At this critical moment, we issue a call to all living forces and awakened consciences to condemn and completely reject what is called the “Tasis Government” and to stand firmly with Sudanese national institutions, foremost among them the Sudanese Armed Forces, to complete the process of liberating the country and restoring stability and safety for the Sudanese people.
