His Excellency Ambassador Omar Issa Ahmed – Sudan’s Ambassador to China, conducted an official visit on Monday, March 2, 2026, to the headquarters of the China-Africa Development Fund

In a move reflecting an active diplomatic effort to enhance economic partnership between the Republic of Sudan and the People’s Republic of China, His Excellency Ambassador Omar Issa Ahmed – Sudan’s Ambassador to China, conducted an official visit on Monday, March 2, 2026, to the headquarters of the China-Africa Development Fund.

The ambassador was received by the Chairman of the Fund, Mr. Wang Shao Dan, in the presence of a number of senior officials of the Fund, where the two sides held a meeting to discuss prospects for joint cooperation and ways to expand investment and sustainable development in Sudan. During the meeting, the ambassador gave a comprehensive presentation on the current political and economic developments in Sudan, reviewing the challenges associated with the reconstruction phase, while also highlighting the promising opportunities available for Chinese investments, especially in priority vital sectors, foremost among them infrastructure, energy, agriculture, and mining. The ambassador emphasized the importance of the role that the China-Africa Development Fund can play in supporting Sudan’s efforts to attract Chinese capital and contribute to the implementation of strategic development projects that enhance economic and social stability and drive growth in the upcoming phase.

For his part, Mr. Wang Shao Dan expressed the fund’s welcome for supporting sustainable development projects in Sudan, pointing to CADFUND’s readiness to seriously consider available investment opportunities and to work with the relevant Sudanese authorities to ensure the success of projects with tangible developmental impact. The two sides agreed on the importance of deepening the strategic partnership between Sudan and China, and intensifying technical and institutional coordination in the coming period, which would contribute to strengthening the presence of Chinese investments in Sudan and opening wider horizons for economic cooperation … between the two countries.
