Late-Night Cargo Flight Reported Over Bosaso, Raises New Allegations

By Abdiasis Farah Said

Bosaso, Puntland — Residents in Bosaso reported a loud cargo aircraft departure around 11:00 p.m. last night, drawing attention across the المدينة due to its unusually heavy noise and low flight path over populated areas. Witnesses described the aircraft as significantly louder than typical flights, with the sound lasting several minutes after takeoff. According to sources who spoke to Brown Land News on condition of anonymity, there are ongoing allegations that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) continues to use Bosaso Airport during nighttime hours for logistical operations linked to the conflict in Sudan, including support to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). These claims, however, remain unverified and have not been confirmed by officials. Neither Somali federal authorities, Puntland officials, nor UAE representatives have issued statements regarding the reported flight or the broader allegations. The situation adds to growing concerns and scrutiny over the use of Somali infrastructure in external conflicts, particularly amid Somalia’s stated restrictions on unauthorized foreign military activity.

Brown Land News will continue to monitor developments as more information becomes available.
