
Somalia, Sudan Sign Diplomatic Visa Waiver Agreement in Mogadishu
Mogadishu | April 4, 2026 — The Federal Republic of Somalia and the Republic of Sudan have signed a bilateral agreement exempting holders of diplomatic passports from entry visa requirements, marking a step forward in strengthening ties between the two nations.The agreement was concluded on April 2 on the sidelines of the second session of the Political Consultative Committee between Somalia and Sudan, held in Mogadishu. The session was co-chaired by senior officials from both countries, including Hamza Adam Hado and Ambassador Moawia Othman Khaled.Discussions during the meeting focused on expanding cooperation in key sectors such as politics, economic development, and education. Both sides also emphasized the importance of capacity-building initiatives and closer coordination on regional and international issues of shared concern.The latest agreement reflects growing diplomatic engagement between Somalia and Sudan and is expected to facilitate smoother interaction between government officials of the two countries.
