
Turkey Launches Offshore Oil Exploration Ship in Mogadishu Ceremony

Mogadishu – A landmark ceremony was held yesterday at the Muqdisho Sea Port, where a Turkish offshore exploration ship was officially launched ahead of planned oil exploration along Somalia’s الساحل. The vessel remained stationed at the port during the event, drawing attention from officials and attendees gathered to witness the occasion.The ceremony was attended by the President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, and the Prime Minister, Hamza Abdi Barre, alongside the Energy Minister of Turkey and a high-level Turkish delegation. Their presence underscored the importance of the project and the strengthening partnership between the two nations.Officials described the initiative as a historic step toward unlocking Somalia’s offshore oil potential. The Turkish-operated vessel is expected to carry out seismic surveys and exploratory drilling in the coming weeks, targeting areas believed to hold significant oil and gas reserves.Speaking during the ceremony, Somali leaders emphasized the potential economic benefits of the project, including job creation, increased investment, and long-term energy independence.
