Sudan’s ambassador to Ethiopia meets with the chairman of the African Union Commission

Mr. Al-Zain Ibrahim Hussein, ambassador of Sudan to Ethiopia, Permanent Representative to the African Union, met today with Mr. Mahmoud Ali Youssef, chairman of the African Union Commission, and renewed the welcome of the leadership and people of Sudan to assume his duties and thanked him for his positive interaction with the issues of Sudan in light of the aggression waged by the rebel militia.

The ambassador provided a detailed enlightenment on the developments in the situation in Sudan, and the armed forces and their supporting forces were able to liberate Khartoum, the capital of Sudan, and continue the dignity war until the liberation of the rest of the Sudanese soil and extend the prestige of the state and its institutions.

He also provided enlightenment about the violations of the militia besieging El Fasher and the displaced persons camps in Zamzam and Abu Shouk, which found wide condemnation, especially from the African Union.

The meeting also discussed the role of the African Union in the past and its importance at the current delicate stage and the need for Sudan to reconcile its situation, which requires close coordination and positive engagement in light of the road map announced by His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, chairman of the transitional sovereign Council last February.

The ambassador discussed with the chairperson of the commission the vision of the AU Commission in the next phase under his leadership.

For his part, Mr. Mahmoud Ali Youssef, head of the commission, welcomed the great and positive developments in Sudan, headed by the return of the capital Khartoum, which symbolizes the sovereignty of Sudan and its institutions, headed by the transitional sovereignty Council, the official organ of the state leadership.

He stressed his support for the sovereignty of Sudan and his keenness on the integrity of its territory and territorial integrity and his rejection of any attempts or parallel arrangements aimed at secession events, especially in Darfur, and welcomed all endeavors that ensure peace and stability in the country and a safe transition.
